On average, there are 40 to 60 kinds of detergents, ointments, lotions, and soaps in each household. Therefore, there are colorful bottles, sprays, hoses, and containers everywhere in the house. Do we really need these products? In fact, as long as there is vinegar and sodium bicarbonate ( baking soda ), most household appliances can be cleaned. And these two kinds of general households have, this is the simplest, cost-saving, environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and zero-pollution option.

The following describes how to use these two homemade cleaners to clean various household appliances.

Clean the refrigerator

The refrigerator should be cleaned every four to six weeks. Natural cleaners are of course the best cleaning option, and the ideal product is vinegar . Mix household vinegar with water in a ratio of 1:1, and use it to thoroughly wipe all surfaces in the emptied refrigerator. Vinegar can clean, disinfect and remove odors. In the same way, you can also clean the drawers or freezers in the freezer layer of the refrigerator.

Dilute 1:1 with vinegar and water to clean the refrigerator

Clean the refrigerator mold

Ice cube molds made of plastic or stainless steel will form a layer of calcium deposits after being reused several times. Use a 1:1 ratio of edible vinegar and water mixed liquid to pour into the mold, let it soak for several hours, and then rinse with water, the mold will be clean.

Neutralize the odor in the refrigerator

Is there an unpleasant smell in your refrigerator? Do you have time to clear the refrigerator during the weekend? You can easily use sodium bicarbonate to neutralize odors. Just put some powder in a small plate or bowl and put it in the refrigerator.

This is just a temporary measure before you use vinegar to clean. Of course, the best thing is to find the source of the peculiar smell as soon as possible and remove it.

Coffee machine decalcification

Vinegar is an ideal household product that can decalcify filter coffee machines. Pour a cup of edible vinegar and water 1:1 solution into the water storage container, then turn on the coffee machine, and let about one cup of the solution flow through the coffee machine. Then turn off the machine for 20 minutes to allow the vinegar solution to work in the machine. Then turn it on again, let the remaining solution flow through the machine, and then rinse it twice with clean water. Your coffee machine will be decalcified and you can continue to use it.

By the way, citric acid is not suitable for heating and decalcifying household appliances such as coffee makers or irons, because citric acid will be converted into calcium citrate which is difficult to dissolve when heated. Therefore, citric acid can only be used in cold or warm descaling solutions.

Clean the boiler

The water boiler can also use vinegar to remove calcium like other kitchen machines. Mix the vinegar and water in a ratio of 1:1, then pour it into the container to be cleaned, and it must be allowed to stand for several hours for it to work. If the solution in the boiler is boiled once, the time for decalcification can be shortened.

Clean the steam iron

Decalcification and cleaning of steam iron

To remove calcium from the steam iron, you can mix vinegar and water in a ratio of 1:1, then pour it into the iron’s water storage tank and heat it. Let the steam spray for 1 to 2 minutes, and then let the iron sit for an hour. After that, pour out the solution in the water storage tank and rinse with clean water, and then boil the steam until the remaining vinegar and calcium scraps are removed. If the effect is not satisfactory, you can make it again with diluted edible vinegar.

Clean the microwave

Most of the stains inside the microwave oven can usually be easily removed with a wet sponge sprinkled with sodium bicarbonate. Wipe the entire internal surface carefully and thoroughly, and repeat vigorously if necessary, until all dirt and oil stains are removed. Finally, it can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

If the microwave is very dirty, you can use the steam vinegar cleaning method to deal with it. The method is as follows: Take a bowl suitable for heating in a microwave oven, put a cup of water and half a cup of vinegar in the bowl into the stove. Then turn on the microwave to the highest intensity for about 5 minutes. Wait until the vinegar solution has cooled down, and then wipe the remaining solution with a sponge to remove the remaining stains softened by the steam.

The same effect can be achieved by using citric acid. All you need is a whole lemon. First cut the whole lemon into thin slices, then put it in a bowl and place it in a dirty microwave oven, and heat it at the highest intensity for about 2 to 3 minutes. Then wipe the microwave clean with a cloth, and you’re done! The cleaning of the microwave oven can be as simple as this, and it will emit a fresh and comfortable lemon smell.

Clean the oven and bakeware

To remove grease stains and stubborn dirt in the oven, there is no need to use powerful chemicals, as long as you use Wan Ling’s sodium bicarbonate ( baking soda ), you can easily solve the problem like playing a game.

Mix sodium bicarbonate and water at a ratio of 1:1 to form a paste, and then apply the paste to the dirty area of the oven. It is best to let it work all night. The next day, you can easily remove the paste and dirt with a household sponge, and then wipe it off with clean water after thorough cleaning.

The same method can easily remove the crumbly food residue from the bottom of the pot, casserole and pan.

Dishwasher cleaning and maintenance

If the dishwasher emits an unpleasant smell, it is usually caused by dirt in the interior, rear edges, and pipelines. You can use vinegar to deodorize. Pour about half a liter of vinegar in a small bowl and place the bowl upright in the dishwasher. Let the dishwasher run through the cleaning program normally, but do not pre-wash. If the pre-wash function cannot be turned off, please wait for about 15 to 20 minutes after starting the empty machine, and then put the prepared bowl of vinegar into it.

This treatment can make dirt and smell disappear. Be careful when opening the door of the machine, because there may still be washing alkaline water in the bowl and it may spill out.

Descaling and cleaning of washing machine

Washing machines that are dirty or smelly can be decalcified and cleaned with vinegar. Pour half a liter of edible vinegar directly into the drum, and wash with an empty machine at 60 degrees.
