WP ROCKET! setting and usage I will tell you the recommended composition!

This time, we will introduce the strongest WordPress plugin that specializes in speeding up. That is this ” WP Rocket “.

It is a plug-in that has been highly evaluated overseas and has been attracting attention for a long time.
With this one, a competent plug-in that can be processed with various functions for speeding up.

Although it is such a “WP Rocket”, since it is an “overseas plug-in” and a “paid plug-in”, it is rarely introduced in Japan and I think that few people are using it.

However, do you want to use it if you can clear the badger? If you read and use this article, the display speed of the mobile page will be doubled.

As a result of introducing the WP Rocket plugin introduced by Mr. Loki, the page speed on mobile has improved? It
used to be 30 units, so it has doubled?

Here, we will explain the information necessary to clear that hurdle.

Advantages and disadvantages of WP Rocket

First, I would like to introduce the advantages and disadvantages of WP Rocket.

The advantages and disadvantages of this plugin are very simple. And the value of the merit is high!

First of all, I will tell you from the disadvantages.

Disadvantages of WP Rocket

This plugin has various functions, so please stop the duplicate plugin function.

I think that the items that can be set in WP Rocket are installed as various plugins.
For example, CACHE (cache) type plug-in, Lazy Lord type plug-in, etc.

If each function is duplicated, it may not be possible to exert its original power.

Make sure you know what you are doing, and stop or remove unnecessary plugins.

However, this also leads to merits because it eliminates unnecessary plug-ins and makes the operation lighter!

There may also be articles that tell you that “paying” is a disadvantage.
I use it personally, but I don’t see any disadvantages to this price as I judge it to be well worth it. It’s well worth the price!

Benefits of WP Rocket

This is, of course, a faster WordPress page! !! !!

This is the current display speed of my WordPress page.

All factors of this display speed have been achieved with WP Rocket! I will not say that. However, it is the plug-in that I felt the most when I actually used it.

WP ROCKET

Here is a list of the plugins I’m currently using. Of these, the only ones related to the display speed of WordPress pages are this WP Rocket and the image compression CDN plugin “Short Pixel Adaptive Images” explained here.

This WP Rocket is responsible for everything except the images.

In addition, the WP Rocket takes on the functions of various plug-ins, which has the great advantage of reducing the number of plug-ins!
I think this plugin list is also pretty simple.

There are many plug-ins that work quite heavily, just not realizing it! !! !!

How to set up WP Rocket

From here, I will explain how to set up WP Rocket while introducing what I actually set up .

First of all, this setting is just the setting on my site, so it does not apply to all. Be careful, such as backing up so that something goes wrong!

Of course, all settings are in English. If you study English while translating the parts you don’t understand, it may be two birds with one stone! ??

Now, let’s get into the setting explanation.

Items that need to be checked or opened are explained with my setting image.
Items that are not checked at all in the items are solved simply without a photo.

Please save properly after making each setting!

Cache settings

Here, set Cache.

Check “Enable caching for mobile devices”. (I feel that it is ON by default)
This is whether to enable cache on the mobile site, but check to enable it.

Also, although it is “Separate cache files foe mobile devices”, it seems that there are servers that become faster if files are separated from mobile, but recently there are many themes with responsive design, so I think that checking is unnecessary.

Others are about “login page cache” and “cache Lifespan”, so I think the default state is fine.

If you have settings such as login on the WordPress page, please check it.

File Optimization settings

Here, you can set File Optimization.
There are many setting items, so I will explain each item with a photo!

First, I will explain the Basic Setting.
Check “Minify HTML” because it compresses HTML and makes it smaller.
Check “Optimize Google Fonts” as it will put together Fonts files.

This item is a CSS Files setting item.

Check “Minify CSS Files” as it will put together the CSS files.
However, it may cause file corruption, so check it while checking the behavior.

Check “Combine CSS files” as it will combine CSS files and reduce requests.
Also, if it is a next-generation server, it may be faster if it is not combined, so be sure to check! However, I seem to be a next-generation server, but when I checked it, the speed increased, so I check it.

Check “Optimize CSS Files” as it prevents render-blocking of CSS.

In the blank frame, there are settings such as CSS files that you do not want to combine, so if there is nothing, there is no entry.

WP ROCKET

From here, it is the setting of Java Script Files.

Check “Remove jQuery Migrate” because if you delete the jQuery MIgrate file, the JS file will be deleted and the loading time will be faster.

Check “Minify JavaScript files” because it will put together JS files as in the case of CSS.
However, please check the file corruption here as well as CSS.

Check “Combine JavaScript files” because you can combine JS files to reduce requests.
As with the CSS settings, check to see if it is a next-generation server. Similarly, when I checked the next-generation server, the speed increased, so I check it.

Check “Load JavaScript deferred” as it prevents render-blocking of JS files.
Also, check “Safe Mode for jQuery (recommended)” that appears when you check “Load JavaScript deferred”!

Media settings

WP ROCKET

Here, set the Media (image).

First of all, the setting of “LazyLord / Lazy loading of images” is set by another plug-in, so I have not checked it. If you cannot set it with your image plug-in, please check it.

“Disable Emoji” is whether to disable the emoji. Check if you don’t use emoji.
This will reduce HTTP requests.

“Disable WordPress embeds” is a WordPress function that disables embedding. Check if you don’t use card or Twitter embedding in the article. I use it so I haven’t checked it.

Check “Enable WebP caching” if you are using a plugin that is compatible with WP Rocket and WebP. I haven’t used it so I haven’t checked it.
(WebP support is supported by ShortPixel Adaptive Images. Check here for commentary articles!)

Preload settings

Here, set the Preload.

“Activate Preloading” checks whether to enable cache preloading of WP Rocket

“Activate sitemap-based cache preloading” is whether to enable cache preloading based on the sitemap. If it is an SEO plugin that WP Rocket supports, a check box will appear. If you want to check other than that, please enter the site map URL.

Other than this, “Prefetch DNS Requests” and “Preload Fonts” are not described.

Advanced Rules settings

Here, set the Advanced Rules.

Basically I leave all this setting blank.

If you specify a URL that you do not want to cache in “Never Cache URL” or if there is a page that you want to exclude cookies in “Never Cache Cookies”, please describe it in that item.

Furthermore, “Always Purge URL” is when there is a URL that you want to delete from the cache each time you update a post or page. Use “Cache Query String” to change the specifications of WP Rocket, which does not cache the Clie string in the initial state.

Database settings

WP ROCKET

Here, we will set the Datebase.

“Revisions” is a setting to delete revisions of posts. I would like to delete the post because it will be heavy if it accumulates, but I have not checked it because there are cases where I want to check the previously created article. If you don’t mind, please check it.

“Auto Drafts” is a setting to delete drafts. This will automatically erase the draft, so I think it’s best not to check it. Check if you don’t draft.

“Trashed Posts” is a setting to delete posts from deleted items. If you accidentally delete it, or if you deleted it but want to restore it, do not check it. Check if you don’t need it.

“Spam Comments” is a setting to delete spam comments. I don’t need spam comments, so I check them, but if you usually confuse comments with spam comments, please think about it.

“Trashed Comments” is a setting to delete comments in the trash. I’m checking this.

“Expired transients” is a setting to delete expired transients. transients is an API issued by WordPress that is required for temporary database storage. I’m doing it without checking.

“All transients” is a setting to delete all transients. I don’t check this area because I don’t know if it needs to be erased.

“Optimize Tables” is a setting that optimizes tables. I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m checking it for the time being (please check the operation before and after checking)

“Schedule Automatic Cleanup” is a setting that determines the period for deleting items checked in the above settings. Personally, I set it to be done daily.

CDN / Heartbeat / Add-ons / Image Optimization / Tools settings

Whether or not these items are necessary varies from person to person, so I will briefly explain them.

“CDN” setting is an item to enable or not enable the CDN service affiliated with WP Rocket and to set the detailed settings. Check if you are using a compatible CDN service.

Please check this official website for compatible CDN services .

“Heartbeat” setting is an item to set the Heartbeat API in WordPress. It is an API that automatically saves articles and is used at various times, but it can be a heavy load on the server side.
Limiting saves server resources, but it is a setting that can affect themes and plugins.

Please set “Add-ons” if necessary because it has a function to improve JS browser cache such as “Google Tracking” and “Facebook Pixel”.
However, please note that [when using analytics using Google Tag Manager] and [when setting Facebook pixels using some plugins such as Pixel Your Site] are not applicable.

Check “Varnish” if your server has “Varnish” installed.

If you are using it after that, please check it.

The “Image Optimization” setting is a setting item for a plug-in called “Imagify”, which has the same developer as WP Rocket. Check if you are using this plugin.

The “Tooles” settings include settings that allow you to import / export WP Rocket configuration files and items that allow you to “Rollback”. Please check and go if necessary.

Items to be performed after setting WP Rocket

This completes the WP Rocket settings.
After completing the settings, return to the dashboard and delete the cache etc.

WP ROCKET

Check the inside of the red frame at the bottom right.

“Remove all cached files” is a button to remove all cached files

“Start cache preloading” is a button to start preloading the cache

“Purge OPCache content” is a button to remove OPCache content

“Regenerate Critical CSS” is a button to rebuild the CSS file

There are four.

Let’s push this in order from the top.

After that, if you check the set page for any problems, check the setting items and take appropriate action.

So far, I have explained, but the items that can be set are detailed and specialized, and it was quite difficult with English. I think it may be necessary to change the setting items depending on each site, so let’s set while clearing each one! !! !!

After completing the settings, if there are no problems, try measuring with PageSpeed Insight or GTmetrix.

I’m sure you’re happy with the results!

How to purchase and download WP Rocket

From here, I will explain how to purchase and download WP Rocket !

When the purchase is complete, a download button will appear on the purchase completion screen.
Click to download WP Rocket.
If you close this screen, an email has arrived at the registered email address, so there is information that allows you to log in to “My Account” from there, so if you log in from there, “LICENSE” as shown in the image below. There is a download button in the item.
